My experience with Oasis has been nothing like I have ever experienced.  I appreciate the community food help and it does help, but just walking into your office makes me feel comfortable.  Since I started with Oasis back in November, Tonya the job counselor, has gone beyond helping. She knows that I have a computer at home and can do my job search at home so I don't have to come into the office every week.  All she expects is that I submit 3 resumes each week.  Every week when I go for my bread and pastries I do stop in to talk her and let her know what I have done for the week.  When I feel down and frustrated I know I can go and speak to Tonya. She understands my frustrations and I think she has learned some of my moods when it comes to finding a job.  Tonya knows that I am very dedicated to finding a job.  Practically every morning when I wake up and check my email I know I will find a job lead from Tonya.

Tonya has a very special way that she communicates with her clients that I myself feel very comfortable with.  I know my membership comes to an end in May 2010 but I know Tonya will always be there for me when I need her to be.  Oasis is not just a community food place or a place that helps you with all your needs, its a place for making friends.  I know down the line if I ever need advice I know I can count on Tonya and all the people at Oasis.

Editors notes: Sarah has been employed at Temple Beth Zion Preschool in Royal Palm Beach since February 22, 2010 and is an assistant teacher. She assists with the 2 & 3 year olds there. Sarah was also one of the 2010 Dream Makeover Candidates.

Job Placement on the Rise at Oasis!

Reuben Carter just got a job because of the help he received at Oasis. In fact, Oasis has helped 9 clients within the past month, find local local employment ranging from billing specialists to welding technicians.

"We attribute this to a lot of prayers for our clients and the hard work of our Career Center team, in particular, our job counselor, Tonya Meese," CEO Sharon Gill stated.

I am now employed! Thanks to Oasis.

I walked in and met with the intake counselor (Greyni) and asked about help finding employment. I told her my story how I had just moved from New York and my wife is still there, suffering from health problems. I was looking to find a job that would allow me to bring my wife down here, so her health could improve.
